Workshop

Work together on a self-designed pavilion in collaboration with TAAT!

Besides being a pavilion in the meadow at Lommel Kattenbos, BOKRIJK SENGU is also a hands-on workshop, in which you can build a self-designed pavilion in a group! BOKRIJK SENGU consists of three hundred, different sized, building blocks that can be assembled in 1001 ways. Your group puts together your building plan and you work under supervision on a building project, working, layer by layer, on a construction that will be ready in a day. The existing structure is an example, and you systematically dismantle it to rebuild the building in a new form.

TAAT is a trans disciplinary collective that works in the context of a cross section between theatre, architecture and the visual arts. It was founded by architect Breg Horemans (BE) and theatre maker Gert-Jan Stam (NL) after a successful collaboration on the wooden pavilion KHOR I at the Floriade 2012 in Venlo. Since then, TAAT created installations at home and abroad, involving various groups of students, city residents, museum visitors and international experts. From autumn 2015 until the summer of 2016, TAAT will implement ‘Bokrijk Sengu’ in association with five young designers from Flanders and the Netherlands. More info about TAAT.
